Dr Maleeha Asim

Dr. Maleeha Asim is a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner who has recently relocated from the United Kingdom to Canberra. She completed her foundation and postgraduate training in the UK, gaining extensive experience across multiple specialties, including general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, emergency medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics, reproductive health, psychiatry, aged care, urology, and vascular surgery.

With a strong background in general practice, Dr. Asim has worked across various clinics in the UK, honing her skills in diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions. She has a particular passion for women’s health, including reproductive and post-menopausal care, as well as mental health, paediatrics, and chronic disease management.

Dr. Asim is multilingual, fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi, with an understanding of Bengali, enabling her to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population. She is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care and looks forward to supporting the health and well-being of the Canberra community.

Dr Karan Elliott

Dr Karan Elliott

Dr Karan graduated with honours from Sydney Uni medical school and has worked in many areas of Australia and overseas – including Kenya, South Africa, Bathurst and Northern Territory (particularly with Indigenous communities).

Her honours work included diabetes, and she has published articles in this area, along with women and children’s health.

With a strong background in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Karan works in conjunction with all local hospitals and specialists for Antenatal Shared Care.

Sexual and fertility/contraceptive medicine are other areas where Dr Karan has post-graduate qualifications and experience. She offers medical termination of pregnancy and is also qualified for insertion/removal of IUD (Mirena and copper) and Implanon devices.

With additional training in paediatrics and three young children of her own, Dr Karan is an ideal fit for families.

Originally from Sydney, Dr Karan and her family are now proud locals.

Dr. Kelechi Nnajide has experience in and offers a wide range of mental health services, including Mental Health Care Plans for the management of Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Bipolar disorders, Schizophrenia, OCD, Personality disorders, Eating disorders, Mania and Psychosis etc. He has a lot of expertise in managing the different types of ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive / impulsive, combined) in men, women and children, especially in monitoring and managing the different manifestations of ADHD as the child grows. In addition, Dr. Kelechi is certified in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporates Focused Psychological Strategies during consultations and in the management of selected patients.

Dr. Nnajide is also a certified General Practitioner in occupational medicine with extensive experience managing a range of work-related injuries, travel medicine, commercial driving license medicals, and medico-legal report writing. He offers compassionate, comprehensive care tailored to individuals in various occupational environments, ensuring safety and well-being in the workplace.

Dr. Kelechi also provides Skin Cancer Diagnosis and Management. He holds a Certificate in Practical Dermoscopy from the Australian College of Dermatology and a Professional Certificate in Dermoscopy from HealthCERT Education. These certifications highlight his expertise and knowledge in effectively diagnosing and managing skin cancer cases.

Dr Mubashar Sherazi

Dr. Mubashar H. Sherazi is a highly experienced and skilled General Practitioner at Belconnen Mall Medical Centre. He provides comprehensive care across a broad range of medical areas, including:

He also conducts heart health assessment for patient who is 30 years of age or over.
Having completed his GP fellowship in Mallacoota, VIC, Dr. Sherazi served the community during the 2019 bushfires, an experience he documented in his books The Day Mallacoota Turned Red and Mallacoota Memoirs of Recovery. His exceptional dedication earned him the RACGP "Rural GP in Training of the Year Award" in 2021.

Dr. Sherazi also supervises registrars and medical students, further demonstrating his passion for medical education. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, playing badminton, and engaging in social media.

Fluent in Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi, Dr. Sherazi fosters strong connections with his diverse patient base.

Dr Shibli Sharif

Dr Sharif has recently returned from working overseas in the UK and the Middle East. He is welcoming new patients and has extensive knowledge in all areas of general practice. Dr Sharif also performs vasectomies.
He is also an accredited skin cancer doctor.

Dr Iftikhar Hafeez

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Hafeez comes to us with a wealth of surgical and general practice experience. Having worked rurally and at the Canberra Hospital, Dr Hafeez has a wide range of knowledge in a variety of settings.

He has a particular interest in surgical procedures including skin grafts and skin flaps as well as detection and removal of skin cancers. Dr Hafeez also performs vasectomies.

Dr Sobia Bajwa

MBBS, FRACGP, MSc in Clinical Dermatology

Dr. Sobia Bajwa is a General Practitioner with a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Originally from Pakistan and raised in the Middle East, Dr. Bajwa completed her MBBS in Pakistan before relocating to Australia.

Dr. Bajwa has a broad interest in all aspects of General Practice, providing comprehensive consultations for children, adults, and patients with complex conditions and chronic diseases. She has a particular focus on women’s health, including family planning, antenatal care, and cervical screening tests (CST). Dr. Bajwa also has a keen interest in mental health and work-related claims.

Having worked extensively in regional New South Wales, Dr. Bajwa brings valuable experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) healthcare. She furthered her expertise by studying and training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas' Hospital in London, where she developed a strong interest in dermatology and skin cancer management.
Dr. Bajwa is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a wide range of medical needs.

Dr Vithya Indrakumar

Dr. Vithya Indrakumar is thrilled to share a bit about her background and medical journey with you. Born and raised in the UK, she began her foray into healthcare with a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Bradford, graduating as a Pharmacist. Driven by a passion for patient care, she pursued her medical training at the University of Leicester in the Midlands region of England.

Having obtained her medical degree in 2013, Dr. Indrakumar underwent comprehensive hospital training at esteemed institutions such as the Royal Free Hospital and Watford General Hospital in North West London. Her commitment to excellence led her to successfully complete the MRCGP (Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners) general training programme in 2018 in the West Yorkshire deanery, solidifying her expertise in general practice.

Throughout her professional journey, Dr. Indrakumar has cultivated a keen interest in obstetrics and gynaecology, reflecting her dedication to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to women of all ages.
For the past several years, she has served as a General Practitioner in the city of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, working closely with patients of all ages. Dr. Indrakumar has developed a genuine passion for medicine and is excited to bring her experience and commitment to the practice.

Dr Ko-Chin Chen

FACRRM, MBBS, PhD

Dr. Ko-Chin Chen completed his medical fellowship training in Canberra and rural
NSW following graduation from Australian National University Medical school. His
current clinical works include emergency department, rural hospital inpatient
care, and medical clinics. He also supervises junior medical officer and provides
guidance to Flinders University medical students.
His current medical research focus is on the developmental changes associated
with endothelin receptor B mutation (EDNRB), a cause of Hirschsprung’s disease
affecting certain paediatric populations.
He grew up in Taiwan and Canada but has been in Canberra for over 13 years. He
enjoyed working in different parts of remote Australia over the past few years
and likes to learn different aspects of local practices. He is happy to treat snake
bite, box jelly fish sting, or others; however, if you suffer these types of injuries,
he would strongly recommend you to call an ambulance and present to
emergency department first.
Overall, he enjoys all types of medicine and hope to help patients find the best
solution for their problems.

Keely Van Order

Registered Psychologist (General)

Keely is a compassionate and highly driven Registered Psychologist with a strong foundation in both clinical psychology and medical science. Since completing her qualifications in 2023, she has been working full-time as a Medicare-registered psychologist in Canberra, supporting individuals across a range of mental health challenges.

With a special interest in neuropsychology, psychometric assessments, and evidence-based treatment, Keely brings a unique depth of knowledge to her sessions. Her practical training included extensive work in cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessments—supporting diagnoses such as ADHD, learning difficulties, and dementia—both at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and in private practice settings.

Keely holds a Master of Professional Psychology and a Master of Clinical Research, which she completed alongside medical training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She has recently been accepted into a fully funded PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Toronto, which she will commence later this year.

Her approach to therapy is collaborative, kind, and practical, grounded in the belief that every individual is capable of change, resilience, and growth. Whether working with children, adolescents, or adults, Keely is passionate about creating a safe space where clients feel heard and supported.

Umer Iqbal

Physiotherapist

Umer is a dedicated and compassionate physiotherapist with over 9 years of clinical experience across aged care, private practice, and hospital settings in both Australia and Pakistan. He holds a Doctor of Physiotherapy, a Master’s in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, and is currently completing his PhD in Exercise and Sports Science.

At Belconnen Mall Medical Centre, he provides evidence-based, patient-centred care tailored to each individual’s needs. His areas of expertise include musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, chronic pain management, and neurological conditions. He also offers hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, posture and movement retraining, and injury prevention strategies.

He is passionate about helping people regain their mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing a long-term condition, or aiming to improve your physical performance, he is here to support your journey to better health.

Kereng graduated from the University of South Australia (Adelaide) in 2006. She has since worked across different areas of Physiotherapy. Since moving to Canberra, she enjoys walking around the lake.
